Despite the fact that relatively few lost time claims are registered every year in Agriculture, a large percentage of injuries in this sector are fatal. As such, it has become mandatory for all employees and possible job candidates to undergo scrupulous safety training.
The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) indicates that no less than 70% of the number of fatalities recorded in the last several decades are machine-related, which means that these terrible accidents could be prevented given sufficient safety training.
